This month, EMBREY is joined by Spurs’ Sports and Entertainment CEO, RC Buford, and Managing Partner, Peter Holt, to examine how a sustained culture of accountability and shared purpose can create long-term, organizational success.
The Spurs’ are a case study in how this culture of connection and unity drive victory, values so clearly demonstrated in their Championship win in 2014, following a game seven loss the year prior.
At the foundation of their organization is a consistent emphasis on character and alignment. Leadership decisions, from hiring to player development, prioritize individuals who reflect the organization’s values, creating a self-reinforcing culture.
Equally important is the discipline to avoid losing habits, even during periods of change. Maintaining standards and continuity, including long-term involvement from former players in leadership roles, helps the organization preserve its identity through transitions.
