EMBREY Closes on Land Purchase for Heartwood at Vermillion in Huntersville, North Carolina

We have closed on 12 acres in Huntersville, N.C. outside of Charlotte. We plan to break ground this summer on a 291-unit luxury apartment community called Heartwood at Vermillion. The development will be part of a mixed-use community consisting of apartments, townhomes, retail, and restaurants.

“This was a challenging transaction given the site constraints and overall density of the mixed-use community,” said Executive Vice President of Development Brad Knolle. “We appreciate how patient the landowners were as we worked through the zoning, permitting, and everything that goes into a deal like this.”

This will be our third project in the Charlotte market, which has one of the 10 largest growth rates in terms of percentage over the last dozen years. The development will appeal to the suburban renter who is looking for a walkable community with amenities close by.

Units will feature keyless entries, nine-foot ceilings, granite countertops, walk-in closets, and designer finishes throughout. The property will offer luxury amenities such as a resort-style pool with shaded cabanas, a dog park, a fitness center, attached garages, storage rooms, and more.

The design team, including HEDK Architects, GMC Engineering, VP Engineering, Integrity Structural, and Land Design, has worked tirelessly with our Development team to create timeless buildings for this community. EMBREY Builders will be the general contractor and EMBREY Management Services will handle the leasing.

Heartwood at Vermillion is expected to begin leasing in late 2024 with completion in 2025.
